Installing Mods

This section documents how to install mods for Unturned™, including Steam Workshop subscriptions, manual installs for non-Workshop content, server-side mod configuration, and verification workflows. Every article in this section is written for players and server administrators who want their mods to load reliably; modder-facing documentation lives in the Publishing and Getting Started sections.

Most Unturned™ mods are distributed through the Steam Workshop. Subscribing to a Workshop item is usually enough for the mod to install and load automatically the next time the game launches. Mods distributed outside the Workshop (private builds, in-development mods, content shipped on a Discord server) require a manual install into the game's Bundles folder. Server-side mods require additional configuration in the server's commands file so that the server loads and advertises the mod to connecting clients.
